Ipsy Glam Bag – July 2015

I am back with a review of July's ispy glam bag. I know, I am late but in Pakistan as it is not available so I ordered it online from facebook page amor and received it this month.
To be very honest ipsy has never ever disappointed me but this time I have mixed feelings. I don't know whether I am excited after receiving these samples or not. By the way the theme for July's ipsy glam bag was Summer Lovin'. Let's see what came in my ipsy bag.

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Lacquer in 4 Alarm Fire- By the way I am not a huge fan of nail polishes but I love this color. This color is my weakness. It is a full sized bottle so let's see how it turns out.

 Pūr~lisse Pur-bright Ultra Skin Brightening Serum- I have stopped opening skin-care products as my drawers are full now but this serum looks really promising. It is an ultra skin brightening serum so, I will try this for sure.

 Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics 2-in-1 Shadow/Liner- It is a full sized product too and it glides perfectly and smoothly. I will do a detailed review soon.

 Crown Brush Professional Tweezer- I already have two tweezers and I was not in a need of new one but the black color looks unique so it's not a bad deal.

Coolway Beachy Salt Spray- I don't do experiments with my hair so this product is totally useless for me.

Availability
I receive ipsy glam bag on monthly basis from Amor. It costs me Pkr 1700 including delivery. I don't think so that any-other page is offering such amazing price for this bag.

Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System

Today I will be reviewing Olay Pro X Advanced System. I received it in July, 2014 from Facebook store Amor but, because of my health issue I was away from blogging therefore, I am very late in reviewing it. But it is said ' better late than never'.

To be very honest I have been longing for a Clarisonic from the time I started blogging but the only factor which prohibited me from owning it was the price tag.When I read about Olay Pro X advanced cleansing system I purchased it right away. I did not even hesitate and believe me it was the best decision to own this baby. Lets move to a detailed review.

Product Description

The 2-speed rotating facial cleansing brush massages the ProX by Olay Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser on your skin, a lathering micro-bead formula that thoroughly cleans as it gently exfoliates. Just rub it onto your skin and let the power of the Facial Cleansing Brush go to work. Each rotation gently clears away makeup, oil and dirt, leaving your face clean, exfoliated and primed for hydration. In fact, the ProX by Olay Advanced Cleansing System is designed to maximize the immediate hydrating effectiveness of your anti-aging moisturizer. With 2 speeds, you control how it treats your skin. Plus, it's water resistant, making it perfect for use in the shower. Your skin will feel smooth, refreshed, and refined.

How to use

Dampen facial skin and brush-head lightly with water. Dispense Pro-X Exfoliating Renewal Cleanser in your hand and massage over face. Turn on cleansing brush and gently move around the face for approximately 60 seconds. Avoid the eye area. Rinse face and brush head with water.

 My thoughts and experience

The package comes with the cleansing system, a brush head, 2 AA batteries and an exfoliating cleanser. The cleansing system runs on two AA batteries which are included in the box and when you attach the brush-head to the system, the brush rotates in circular motion to remove oil and dirt. On the cleansing system, there are two buttons, the larger on top toggles to power the unit on and off and the smaller bottom one controls its speed - low or high. I use it on high speed as slow one is too slow for me. You can set the speed according to your choice. I have never used it with the exfoliating cleanser which comes with it. I have not read good reviews about it. I checked it with different face-washes but at the end I settled on Pond's face wash as it lathers well. During summers you can  even use it daily but for winters twice a week is enough. To be very honest it makes the face clean but it is not an extra miracle product if you have stubborn white and blackheads. For that purpose it is very important to do deep cleansing once or twice a week or you can call it a mini facial too. You can easily do it at home. For that you need a good cleansing milk, massage it gently all over face for about ten to fifteen minutes. After that, it is much much better to use freeman charcoal mask which works both as a scrub and a mask. I have reviewed in it detail here. At the end you can wash your face with pond's face-wash or any-other of your choice with the help of Olay  Pro X.

My skin always glows after every use and  feels so clean without making my face red or dry. I have extra sensitive skin but the bristles are really soft which never ever caused any problem for my skin. If you have dry skin then I don't think so you will like the bristles much. The condition of my face has improved drastically and I love, love and love it. Bristles are really soft so the brush-head needs special care otherwise bristles will start to fan out around the edges. One more thing please never ever share your brush-head with anyone, not even with your sister.

How to clean Olay Pro X brush-head

It is very important to rinse your brush-head thoroughly after every use. It is advisable to change brush-head after every three months but in my opinion it depends on the usage too. If you clean your brush-head properly then it can survive a bit longer. Well, in my case after rinsing it thoroughly I let the brush-head air-dry on a tissue paper. You can even use towel.

 I purchased this from face-book store Amor . By the way prices have increased. I purchased it in 3200 Pkr and now different pages are selling this in 3500-4500 Pkr.

Recommendation 
A biggggg YES. By the way I haven't tried clarisonic so , I can't do the comparison. It is a much cheaper option so give it a try before purchasing clarisonic.

Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask

Today I will be reviewing Freeman Feeling Beautiful Charcoal & Black Sugar Facial Polishing Mask. To be very honest I am not into masks but after reading awesome reviews and finding a facebook page which was selling it at an amazing price I couldn't stop myself from purchasing this baby. It is also an Allure Best of Beauty 2013 Winner. My skin has improved a lot as I am trying my best to avoid stuff which my skin can't handle but still I have good and bad days. let's see if it lived up to the hype.

Product Description

Pollution…debris…it's a wonder skin can breathe! This unique mask and scrub works double time to detox skin. First, naturally purifying Activated Charcoal helps absorb oil and impurities without over-drying. Then, Black Sugar helps exfoliate away dulling skin cells for softness and clarity. Perfect for all skin types. 

Directions

Apply mask to face and neck, avoiding contact with eyes. Leave on for 5 to 7 minutes. Rinse with warm water. Use 2 times a week or as often as needed.

My thoughts and experience

It is mentioned on the tube that it is a mask but it is a  sugar scrub with charcoal in it. It has a very sweet and pleasant fragrance. Simply wet your face and with a gentle hand apply this mask on your face. The sugar granules are a lil bit harsh so if you have acne prone skin apply it and massage for 2-3 minutes very gently and then leave it for 7-10 minutes. By the way it doesn't dry out so after 7-10 minutes take a wet cotton ball and clean your face. If you find it way too harsh to massage then simply apply it and let it sit on your face for 10-12 minutes. When I cleaned this mask believe me my face was very clean and soft. It was glowing too..I have not experienced any breakouts while using this product. This mask really helps to absorb excess oil while exfoliating skin. The negative side of this mask is that the glow remains on your face for a day or two only. If you have oily and acne prone skin then you can use it thrice a week but if you have dry skin then twice a week is enough. Overall, I think it's a pretty good product for the price. It doesn't dry out skin which most of the masks do. Moreover it minimizes size of pores. I think everyone should give it a try.

Recommendation

A BIG YESSSSSS because I love, love and love it. I will definitely repurchase it after finishing this tube. By the way it expires after 36 months so in my opinion 3 years are enough to finish this tube.

Ipsy Glam Bag-October 2014

 I don't think so I am late on posting about my ipsy bag as they don't deliver to Pakistan. Hats-off to facebook page Amor for making it possible and bringing it to Pakistan. Obviously it takes extra time but this bag is worth the wait.

Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month, subscribers receive a beautiful Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. Members can watch and play along with the stylists with the same products that they are using. All for only $10 a month.You are required to give a beauty quiz so that you can get items according to your skin type and choice but I don't think so subscribers get products according to that quiz, instead they send products randomly.

Lets move on and see what I received in my ipsy bag.

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser  - .5 oz (15ml) and its value is $4.

Albertini International Warm Love Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask  - .5 oz (15ml) and its value is $2.30.

Figs and Rouge Rose Berry Hand Cream - 0.67 (20ml) and its value is $6.50.

Starlooks Lip Gloss in Guilty Pleasure (Mini)- Its value is 4$.

Skone Cosmetics Tattooed Eyeliner (Full size) - Its value is 15$.

Verdict
So in total this Ipsy bag has a value of about $32 which is low actually for Ipsy. I keep on checking previous bags too so I hope so that next time I will get a better one. Overall, I am still pretty happy with this bag  because I like to try different things. Within a few days I will receive my November Ipsy bag too so fingers crossed. By the way I paid 1500 PKR for the October ipsy bag and 200 PKR for delivery charges.

Vaseline healthy white skin lightening body milk-Review

I hope all of you are fine. Great news is that I am FINALLY back to blogging. I missed you all so much. I was away from blogging because of serious health issue. Now I am much much better. I missed writing posts every single day but there is a proper time for everything so, this is the time to start writing again.
Today I will review Vaseline healthy white skin lightening body milk. I don't think so it is an unknown item. In most houses it is used during winters. Lets move on and see if the claims of this lotion are true or not.

Product Description

Vaseline Healthy White skin lightening body lotion is clinically proven for radiant, naturally lighter skin in as early as 2 weeks. With active whitening system. Vitamin B3 to help bring out naturally fair skin. Triple sunscreen to help prevent further darkening. Yogurt serum to moisturize the skin.

 Ingredients

My thoughts and experience

 Vaseline Healthy White skin lightening body lotion comes in a sturdy pale pink color plastic bottle.I should have tried small sized bottle first but I purchased 400 ml one. The body milk is white in color and has a light and pleasant  floral scent which is in my opinion not at all strong. The tragedy with my skin is that it is super oily in summers but in winters it gets dry so, I always need a good lotion to properly moisturize my body. This body lotion absorbs very quickly into the skin. Immediately after applying if you touch your skin you will feel that it is greasy but within a minute it dries out. The worst part is that I am about to finish my bottle but I never felt that my skin is moisturized or even lightening of skin. It doesn't moisturize at all. It looks like I have applied nothing. Yes, in summers it can work but when it comes to winters it does nothing. To be very honest I am really disappointed by this lotion and I will not repurchase it.

Glyco-Aid Cream-Review

Hello Girls!

I am back with my review on Glyco-Aid cream. I hate to repeat the same lines again and again but it's important to mention because there are new readers too, I have acne prone skin which is sensitive too. To be very honest I avoid using creams like this one as they make the skin more sensitive but in my case I had no other option.
The main reason of going after Glyco-Aid cream is to get rid of black heads and open pores. I have set a proper cleansing routine and I takeout blackheads too after doing facial but on 3rd day they are back. I have used many creams for blackheads and open pores but what they did was, they improved my complexion, skin was even tone, dark spots reduced, pores were minimized to some extent but blackheads never went away.

Application

First wash your face with a cleanser and be sure that your facial cleanser does not leave any oily residue. This residue will make it difficult for Glyco-Aid cream to work efficiently. Then apply Glyco-Aid cream twice daily to the ace and neck, gently message into skin and do not wash off.

Precautions

Mild irritation may occur during daily use. In case of irritation consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and if it occurs, wash thoroughly with water. Avoid sun exposure after application.

How I use it

Always use it at night and don't use it twice a day even if it's mentioned on the tube because it's a peel off cream and it will make your skin more sensitive. I always use it at 8pm and clean my face at 1 30am and wash it with face wash after 30 minutes to an hour. It's mentioned on the tube to use it before going to bed and in the morning but my sincere suggestion is not to sleep after applying it because some people unconsciously  can rub their eyes after touching their face. So, I have set  time according to my sleeping routine and in my opinion 5 hours are enough for a cream to work. You can adjust your time according to your sleeping routine. Always use sunblock before going out and even while cooking. In other words you have to protect your skin from heat because this cream makes skin sensitive.

For your ease I am sharing my experience of first 10 days with this cream.

First Day of Glyco-Aid cream

I applied Glyco-Aid cream to my face at 8pm. I was hoping to clean my face at 1 or 2 am but at 12 I decided to get rid of the cream because of irritation. It was out of control so I took a wet cotton ball and cleaned my face very gently. I didn't try to clean it by rubbing it and you should avoid it too. I didn't touch my face for the next 2 hours although irritation was still there. At 2am  washed my face with Dove beauty cream bar . I didn't use oil free face wash as I was worried that I could make my face red. Well, on first day of this cream my face was smooth and soft like a baby's skin. I didn't notice any redness, but there was a new guest on my face ( a tiny pimple). It is normal because it's already mentioned that some people will face acne problem.

Second Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

Tingling feeling started immediately after applying the cream but it was bearable. My face didn't turn red and it was normal. I forgot to mention that this cream is not at all oily. It absorbs quickly into the skin. On 2nd day I felt irritation on my forehead and on my nose but I didn't touch my face. The tingling feeling lasted for an hour and after 2 hours my face started to become oily and pores were very much visible on my face. At 1 :30 am I cleaned my face with wet cotton pad and washed it with dove soap at 2:30am.

Third Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

 On third day I felt that my face is lil oilier so before applying cream I washed my face with Clinique liquid facial soap. After applying Glyco-Aid cream my skin remained oil free, but there was redness on my face. It was not much to get worried about because it was bearable. I decided that if the redness increased then I will skip this cream for a day but at 8pm I noticed that my skin was back to normal so I applied the cream. I didn't feel much irritation. At 1:30am I cleaned my face with cotton balls and washed it with face wash at 2:30am. I noticed a slight lightening up of dark spots and even black heads.One thing which I noticed was that my face felt little stretchy after washing with face wash.

Forth Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

On forth day after applying cream, my face turned red especially from the cheeks. I looked like a tomato but there was no tingling  feeling. The redness was gone after 1.5 hour.

Fifth Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

On fifth day I decided to take a break.

Sixth Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

On sixth day, I decided to go for shopping and before going out I applied sunblock. I felt irritation on my face but, when I came back there was no redness on my face. I washed my face at 8:30pm and applied cream at 9pm. All went fine and successfully I washed my face at 2:30am.

Seventh Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

Everything was normal on seventh day and I followed the same routine. Nothing went wrong.

Eighth Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

On eighth day I gave time to myself and stood in front of the mirror for about thirty minutes lol. I just wanted to see the results of this cream. The pores on my nose were really minimized and yes on cheeks they were still presents. Only dark spots were reduced. On eighth day I followed the same routine and it was all fine.

Ninth Day of Glyco-Aid cream
On ninth day I felt irritation on my face so, I skipped cream.

Tenth Day of Glyco-Aid Cream

On tenth day, I followed the same routine and washed my face at 2:30 am.

Cons

• Irritation
• Makes skin sensitive
• Not suitable for every skin type

Availability

It is easily available at all medical stores in 450 PKR.

Recommendation 

Yes, it's an amazing cream but don't use it during summers. It will work best during winters. It's risky to use peel off creams during summers as face is already oily and such creams make it sensitive too. Moreover, peel off creams work best on dry and clean face so winters are the best option. One more thing, don't use other creams if you plan to go for this one. Select the face washes which work best for you. Don't use this cream for more than three months.

Hola Girls!

I am back with another haul post. I am so much into shopping these days as I am trying to my set my skincare routine.
